Dalcroze New England energizes music education and performance in the region through Eurhythmics workshops with world-renowned educators. We invite musicians, Dalcroze teaching artists, and interdisciplinary learners of all skill levels to explore, grow, and learn through Dalcroze education in music and movement. Adriana Ausch-Simmel
President/Founder

Adriana Ausch-Simmel works at the intersection between music, movement and visual arts. As Dalcroze Eurhythmics disciplines specialist, she combines in her teaching visual arts  and gesture in bringing music to life. Ms. Ausch teaches at Longy School of Music of Bard College, Winchester Music School, where she is the chair of the Dalcroze Music and Movement Department, and several other schools in the Boston Area. Beside MM in Dalcroze, Dalcroze Certificate and License, Ms. Ausch holds a MM in Vocal Performance. Her collage-style solo concerts feature different musical styles, genres, and languages. Ms. Ausch-Simmel founded the New England Dalcroze Chapter of the Dalcroze Society of America in 2010.

Caroline Ly
Vice President 
Communication Manager

Born and raised in France, Caroline has a background in both Piano and Art history. She studied with Armenian pianist Armine Varvarian and later with Nadia Wininger, a graduate from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris (ENMP). Caroline holds a Piano Performance Diploma from the Conservatoire de Noisy-le-Grand and received a Second Excellency Prize at the Musica Competition (Paris) in 2010. She co-founded "French Music for Kids", a music and movement class in French, and currently maintains a private studio in Watertown, MA, while working on her Dalcroze-Eurhythmics certificate. Caroline is also a member of the Copley Cats, a Boston-based a cappella group.

Anne Edgerton
Secretary

Anne Lemos Edgerton is a trained musician and dancer. She holds a MALS  in Composition from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and a Dalcroze Degree and Certificate from the Longy School of Music. She has been teaching dance for over 25 years and Dalcroze Eurhythmics for 15 years. In addition she is a choreographer who has created multiple dance pieces for the past 25 years while choreographer-in-residence for the Moving West Repertory Dance Theatre based in Framingham.

Phil Berman
Treasurer

Phil Berman is a singer-songwriter and educator based in Cambridge, MA. He is the music director for Rock and Roll Daycare in Cambridge, MA, and collects and translates world children's music for Cambridge publishing startup Fiddlefox. Phil began his Dalcroze journey at Winchester Community Music School and Longy School of Music in 2015 and hasn't stopped skipping since. Phil holds a B.F.A. in Theater Arts from Boston University and is working toward his Dalcroze Certificate with Lisa Parker, Eiko Ishizuka, and Adriana Ausch-Simmel.
